Chapter Sixteen

“Go away,” I groan miserably, my head stuffed with cotton, as someone nudges my shoulder to wake me up.

“Pretty Bird, we thought you might want something to eat before we land.” The mention of food wakes me enough to lift my head and look toward Liam, fully expecting a platter full of food, only to be confronted with a muffin. A muffin.

“You woke me up for a muffin?” I ask, my voice gravelly from sleep, and my glare firmly in place before I snatch the chocolate chip muffin from his hands. At least its chocolate, and that wins him some sort of brownie points. He’d have won a lot more if it was an actual brownie, but I guess I can't be picky.

“Well, we were going to see if you want to check out the bedroom with us…” He trails off suggestively, and I look up to see his wiggling eyebrows.

Logan is turned toward us from a couple seats ahead, his eyes heated and his body tight with tension.

“Why would I want to look at a bedroom?” I respond as though I’m not following his train of thought, picking at my muffin with apparent boredom.

“Uh. Well, we only get to use the private jet when we’re on shifter business, and I hear it can be quite fun to...explore while flying.” His discreet glances toward his sister suggest he’s trying to talk in code, but by the look on her face, she’s more than aware and trying not to burst into laughter.

Deciding to make it a little more difficult for him, I gather up some of the melted chocolate from the warm muffin and slowly insert my finger into my mouth, keeping my eyes locked on his. Hollowing my cheeks, I twirl my tongue around my finger and slowly pull it out, making sure my sounds of deliciousness can be heard by everyone on the plane. The fire in his eyes grows, the glowing blue of his eyes mesmerizing as his slacks become uncomfortably tight.

Jerked from my seat unexpectedly, I’m thrown over Logan’s shoulder as he storms to the back of the plane, Liam hot on our heels. Sammy laughs as he kicks open the door before I sail through the air to land on the soft mattress. Looking up at Logan, I’m surprised by the look of pain on his face.

“What's wrong, Logan?” I sit up, worried there’s a problem.

Instead of answering, he starts to undo the buttons of his shirt, the fabric parting over his chest, which is filled out immensely compared to yesterday. When he goes to pull the shirt off, though, the cufflinks get stuck, preventing him from completely removing it. His frustration builds as he struggles to escape, and I decide I’d rather help him than watch the pretty metal birds get destroyed.

Scooching to the edge of the bed, I swing my legs off to each side of his hips, grabbing him by the belt to pull him between my parted thighs. “Let me help.”
